Despite reaching 205 status credits, my card now shows a review date of 15 December 2023 and an expiry date of 29 December 2023, indicating no Platinum for me.

Hope they get this sorted out. I've actually reached 350 status credits...and review date maintained as Dec 22.

Spoke to VA over the phone and they said it will reflect approx 8 weeks from the expiry of my Discover Gold. So my ETA is between end of Jan to mid Feb.

They confirmed I met Switcharoo’s Plat fast track requirements. They also told me I can use the Gold Partner benefits in the meantime.

But does that mean we can double dip on the partner benefits?

My original plan was just to claim the Hilton Diamond. But it seems that I can claim the IHG partner benefit while I’m VA Gold for a short period. Then Hilton Diamond once the Platinum status is reflected.

Sorry I’m a total newbie to Velocity and status matches.

Sorry, could you clarify, please?

When does your 'Discover Gold' "expire"? My reading of the program was that if you got the 200 SCs to qualify for Plat, it would be assessed at the end of the promo period - mid December. Are you saying they said its mid December plus 8 weeks?

Telling you that you can use the Gold Partner benefits in the meantime - were they telling you that you can use ALL the Plat benefits in the meantime? How would various agents know that you are Plat if you are still officially at Gold?
 
Spoke to Velocity. Confirmed what I think was said above. I have qualified for Plat, but have to "wait up to 8 weeks" from the end of the promo period ... notwithstanding there HAS been a status review and Gold maintained. :rolleyes:

No biggie, as my only up-coming flights are in J, but I can anticipate having to ask for the SCs accrued since the end of the promo till whenever they process the new status, to be credited to my new status year.
 
My review date is 01 Jan 23 and I have some SQ flights in Y mid Jan. Wanted to try the silverkirs lounge during the SIN transit.
Watching your progress intently.

You’d only get access to the SilverKris lounge in SIN if flying in J.

Status pax -whether SQ Gold, *A Gold or VA Gold/Plat - are sent to the KrisFlyer Gold lounge when flying in Y. So assuming you are VA Gold then you are covered for this already.

Yep pretty much that. Not really sure why they're doing like a two-stage review for the Platinum fast track, but whatever. No rush for me either.

In regards to your question regarding the partner benefits, they told me we can claim the Gold partner benefit (not Platinum) while waiting - i.e. status match to IHG/Hilton & Hertz/Europcar. I logged in my Velocity account and can see I can redeem those now if I wish to (albeit at a Gold level status match). Then redeem again when the VA Platinum status is given.

Anyway, I've now decided to just wait for my VA Platinum status to be reflected before redeeming anything.
 
I’m finding the wait so frustrating as I will have qualified Platinum and have flights coming up on QR and SQ. (QR isn’t an issue as I’ll use QFWP to get clings access). But with SQ, I want to book seats and not have to pay for them (flying Y) but needing to wait until they’ve processed it.

My app has changed now too - not even mentioning the trial for WP. My review date for the trial was 14/12 and I’ve emailed twice and just get told to wait.

Noticed I am now gold "proper" after review but like everyone else no mention of Platinum. So I guess we all wait up to 8 weekend see what happens then bombard VA with calls if no progress. 🤭
 
Ah airline IT, really not upto today's standards, whatever that is.
All works out don't it? Frustration between frustrating i bet.
 
Finally gold proper. Do you get any physical cards/tags sent upon attaining the proper status after the status challenge?
 
I took advantage of the discover gold status match early 2022. Qualified for real gold quite easily actually and am pretty happy on this side of the fence!
I vaguely remember that when I took the status match if I did qualify I could gift gold to my partner? I can't see the email to confirm unfortunately.....am I delerious or was this a thing?
 
I'm assuming those of us with additional points/credits waiting for Platinum ...no one yet received?

Yes, that's when I came across, around March 2022 I think (?). And yes, I was able to confer gold upon my partner and indeed did so. 😀
