I just want to thank everyone on this thread (and the QF thread) for taking the time to whip out your mobile and snap a picture. Sometimes you can feel like a weirdo doing it, but it certainly is great to see these pictures on AFF. Thank you.
I agree with your statement, I enjoy sharing good food more than bad food, so have no qualms about photography of food and seat etc. I am not comfortable doing YouTube videos, but do enjoy watching the same.

Yep. Which is why I don't like it when people bag out or laugh at other people for taking photos (when it's done 'normally' in unobtrusive/unannoying ways); after all, without those people, the 'media' would just be walls of text!

I generally explain to my seat mate why I do it (member of AFF and we talk about presentation, taste and food on particular routes etc) and even to the couple of FA's that see me snapping away. Most are interested but don't say anything.
 
Tomato and Mozarella salad on MEL-SYD today. Found the presence of a side salad to a salad rather funny! Quite delicious though.

Breakfast this morning on ADL-MEL
I had the Bircher muesli with rockmelon and lychees. Pretty basic but tasted superb. Mrs Jase has the Potato rosti with poached egg, ham and mushroom ragu. Egg was a little overdone for her liking but she still said it was a very good breakfast dish.

VA820 SYD to MEL seat 2C

Went for the hot breakfast: haloumi, sausages, sweet potato, and mushrooms. Surprisingly no eggs but the haloumi was actually pretty nice
Would've thought a poached egg would finish that nicely, but still looks great.
 
The meal on "the business" from MEL to LAX was a bit of a let down. The highlight was the garlic bread haha.

Ordered the prawns for entree... Was expecting austrailian tiger prawns but they looked and tasted like the vannamei prawns. Small limp and watery, luckily there was only 3 of them!

For main i ordered the roast turkey which was ok but nothing better than i would expect in ecomomy. Turkey was a bit dry and was just 2 slices.

For dessert i ordered the chocolate tart but apparenrly they ran out so i was given the rapsberry ice cream instead which was just a tiny little pre packaged tub of ice cream.

SYD-MEL 22nd of Dec. Smoked trout on a Greek salad, I was skeptical at first but it was all very fresh and tasty! Other option was roast pork.

Beef curry which was tender and very tasty. Could have done with a bit more spice but no real complaints.
Mrs Jase had the Cold Chicken salad which she said was top notch. Service was very attentive and our glasses never got below 1/4 full before being topped up

Had this recently and had the exact same thought! In my case they had run out of the hot option, which was a beef based dish, but in the end i thought this was the better option and quite filling :)

Dec 27th, Launceston to Sydney.

Egg & bacon tart with relish and a fruit yoghurt. The other choice was a goats cheese salad of some sort.

I enjoyed it but was still a bit peckish (10.25am departure pushed back to about 11) so had cheese and crackers afterwards. Do they still have the Pantry as there was no offer of it?
