Ditto - thank you.

Wonder if DJ will be pulling out the dreaded middle seat just like Qantas are??

I think I read somewhere, perhaps in June's Australian Aviation, that the new A330's for Virgin Australia will be delivered in the six-abreast 2-2-2 configuration. No word on whether the middle seats on XFA and XFB will be removed.

One thing that has really surprised me about the re-branding is how quickly it has really happened. Gate signage, check-in, on-board (Except this months Voyeur which is still Virgin Blue, but that's forgivable).

The only thing really to re-brand is the a/c.

Great to see you notice the little things!
The rebranding of airports is a costly, and time consuming job, which is being rolled out port by port. Perth was done last week, coinciding with the first official Coast To Coast flight, with Gold Coast, Adelaide and Canberra coming up soon.

Understand the time and cost involved, which is why I was so stunned that MEL and SYD are effectively done. Kudos:)

I'm really getting on board with these changes. I was rather sceptical, but i'm rapidly changing my thinking (and I miss the old AN terminals and their travelators - Why do QF have such an aversion to putting them in their terminals!).

im interestested to know which qf terminals need travelators.. maybe u should request a wheelchair on booking if u have mobilty issues!

Hey, fab TR! :D

I was going to post some pics of the Lounge but I think Aaron's photography skills blow mine out of the water so I shall refrain from showing off just how bad I am with a camera at 6am in the morning and sleep deprieved.:mrgreen:

It's scary that he took such great shots under the influence too!

Oh well - when it comes to photos and cameras, some people take them, and some people break them ;)

Looking at my work flights it appears Iam on the A330 flight both this coming Saturday, as well as the next too... no doubt I will be in economy (unless gorgeous Angels, Seraphims, Cherubims, and all the Saints intercedes on my behalf) so I will update with a *very quick* summary of the Y experience...

***hope there aren't too many typos in this post. took me 15 minutes for all of 100 words due to a work/business lunch at Movidas that consisted of very few raciones annd servings, and too many glasses (can y ou say 'bottles') of wine ;) ***

*shame*(

Any flight from MEL at gate 10 or 11 after you've had an hour or three in the J lounge ;)

I have no mobility issues, but it's just a nice thing about the ex-AN terminals. I dislike walking slowly and the travelators got me there that bit faster (It's in my head sure but it just seems most US and EU airports are full of 'em whereas QF MEL only has them between the two piers, which aren't really all that useful for the majority of pax).

Oops I forgot to add the economy option...

So rest assured it won't be a long one - and I will try *for once in my life* to keep this post as serious as possible

Saturday evening - after boozing it up in the lounge again, I went to the same gate and failing to get my upgrade to J, I went to sit in 7A.

All I can say is I had a fantastic flight... The seats in economy were more comfortable than the PE row 3 seat I had on the 737-700 flying back to MEL today. I appreciate that row 7 has no other row in front of it - but the leg room looked respectable in other rows. The chair is comfortable (sorry Liam, but I thought it really was) and looking out the window (and seeing that engine - were A330 RR engines always so big or have they grown? Sheesh - been sitting at the pointy end for too long I have forgotten what they look like) the 55 minute flight felt like 15. Again, there were probably about 50 people on board (if you're lucky).

Would be completely happy to fly that Y section any day - though of course: not international long haul.

The colour scheme is great with the charcoal & purple. I also like the subtle touch of having no specific order to the colouring (as in: charcoal, purple, charcoal purple, etc but totally random - as far as I could tell) it keeps things fresh.

Apologies for the boring post but I was far too sober to post anything of note: let's wait till the July 30 JQ35 flight for AFFers and we'll reevaluate then.

Cheers.
