Thought would try and keep it all consolidated as we head into the new FY, and more exposure to the fuel pricing as we enter June/July, adjustments are coming.

On Wednesday, Virgin provided more details of its network changes including the indefinite suspension of Adelaide to Cairns from August 1 and Alice Springs-Brisbane from July 14.

Both are seasonal services, and customers will be re-accommodated on alternative flights.

Virgin also planned to restrict seasonal flights between Darwin and Sydney to the period from June 22 to October 25, and trim Uluru-Melbourne from three to two flights a week from August 20.

More changes are being reported by The Australian behind paywall.

Mainly affecting routes that only operate a few times a week:
  • Brisbane - Apia: suspended indefinitely from August 25
  • Brisbane - Ayers Rock: suspended from October 24
  • Melbourne - Ayers Rock: suspended from October 25
  • Adelaide - Hobart: seasonal service will not return this year
  • Perth - Launceston: seasonal service will not return this year
Virgin said in a statement this amounts to around 26 flights a week.
