Very bad experience with Velocity redemption of US based flight

so I feel totally ripped off and expect Virgin Australia is intending to profit on redemption bookings by overcharging for taxes.

been awhile since you did a redemption? ;) its bog-standard to get hit with fees (fuel surcharge, carrier surcharge etc etc) when redeeeming on many carriers and absolutely pointless to try and compare to a revenue fare and then get in a fuss over it.

Velocity may charge fees for travel on partner airlines the partners themselves don't.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Fair enough although velocity should state this as a booking or service fee not taxes imposed by Virgin America which is what Keith from Velocity claimed (trust me his real name is more likely to be Patel lol).
