Velocity Status Benefits on Partner Airlines

Am I correct in assuming there is no pretty check in / priority security at any of these airports for a Velocity plat flying Singapore economy?
Yes to Priority Check-in. Business Class counter based on my last few SQ flights.

You will get lounge access in MEL and SIN but not SGN. The VA/SQ partnership allows lounge access in Y for VA Gold/Plat when there is an SQ owned lounge available (but not a partner/contract lounge).
This is different than airlines likes QR who will give you lounge access even if the lounge they use is a contract lounge.

It ain't "pretty" but:
  • Priority Check-in
  • One piece of additional checked baggage when travelling to/from the USA and Brazil
  • Additional checked baggage up to 20kg when travelling to other international destinations
  • Priority Boarding
  • Priority Baggage
  • Singapore Airlines Lounge Access

Nothings pretty with the patch work alliance approach. Thank you! I saw that list and generally trust AFF more, so was surprised the AFF list didn’t include priority check in.

How do you know what priority check in you get?

Thank you, yes bummer about SGN but honestly for that port I’m more concerned about getting through check in and security quickly was hoping VA Plat gave me that - but it’s unclear

Check in is always a breeze at SGN but you will get priority check in. no real official priority security for anyone which can be a nightmare at SGN

Sigh, yes have heard nightmare travel stories about SGN security… how long do you think to allow for an 8pm flight mid week?…

Also what priority check in counter do you get as a plat? J desk?

Yes, J desk
SGN is just a shambles at times. We have been through there many times and have paid the express fees on some occasions but there is no reason or logic as to why even though the place is packed some days can take 1-2hrs to get through.

Thanks for the heads up will look out for the express lane!
