The double VA whammy (unless you're platinum) here

If you have to change/cancel a (paid or rewards) flight, you have to pay the change fee based on the fare AND a fee to change for the upgrade (4,500 points or $35).

Makes the last minute $ upgrade lottery a bit more valuable tbh.
