Hey Guys and Girls,

I was just wondering if anyone has used this service and if you've had any drama's with points posting?

The local Indian place is part of it and for 300 points a booking it could certainly be of some value!

Interesting that Velocity launches a restaurant programme just as Qantas shuts theirs down.

The Book a restaurant deal with Velocity had been going for well over a year!

I made a few bookings when they had the 200 bonus points promotion... the points all credited about a month after dining. Seems like a good program, and a heck of a lot more choices than QF's now-extinct version. Good thing is you don't have to present your card while paying and them coming up with a lie (as the case may be) about the machine 'not working.'

I had a quick squiz over it afew weeks again when I looking at a nice place to take a lady friend of mine out to on a date - The program seemed limited abit in where you could go/book, but it looks like another way to earn afew extra points indeed... The posting of points would be my concern too, if my experience with the Shop & Earn store is anything to go by...

In the last 12 months I've used the book a restaurant half a dozen times. Each time I was going there anyway, so the points I thought are just a bonus! especially when you then use a linked CC to pay, more points!
The longest it took for points to post was 4 weeks. I found it easy, no questions, discussions etc... points just went through. Though I did make sure each time that it was recorded as a VA booking.
Probably one of the smoother aspects, unlike trying to book a flight.

Thanks for the replies folks, ill let you know how it goes after my first booking

If there are any issues with points posting it probably won't be the restaurant's fault. BookARestaurant posts the points and they automatically assume every booking proceeded unless the restaurant flags it as a no-show.

I've also used it quite a few times with no dramas. A good idea to hang on to your receipt just in case though.

Has anyone else found the B-A-R website not working the past week? It allows me to search for a restaurant and enter my details but keeps coming up with an error message when I try and submit the booking?

I've had a few "restaurant offline" messages lately, is that what you're seeing?

Velocity are offering 500 points for booking and dining during November rather than the usual 300.

I've now used it 3 times but not recieved points for any of them... Now at 5 weeks since the first meal, hoping that i will receive points this week or I'll have to make a claim... Not sure how to do this though as the claim form asks for a receipt number? I definitely don't have my receipt left over from a meal at the end of July haha

I've used this once, with the points posted after I put in a retro claim about a month later.

I don't recall if it requested a receipt number when I put in the claim, but I may have used a number on my account transactions list.
