Velocity. Melbourne to LAX fare class FD?

I booked me and the Mrs (I’m platinum she will be shortly ) freedom fares to LA in July next year through Amex travel.

The fare class is saying Freedom FD
I’m really dam hoping I can upgrade this fare to use some of our copious amounts of Velocity points.

If it's a Freedom fare and you're Platinum, you can upgrade as long as there is Business Reward availability (or Premium Economy Reward availability for an upgrade to that cabin).

Ok awesome thanks, Ive never used any of my points for upgrades. Thought 1,200,000 points should go to good use

Normally I just pay full fare.
