Velocity Double Points Promotion | Velocity Frequent Flyer

For a limited time, earn double Points on flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia*.

Simply register and book between 2 - 9 March 2015 for travel between 1 April – 30 September 2015.

[h=3]Terms and Conditions[/h] To be eligible for the bonus Points promotion you must register your membership number online between 12.01am AEST 2 March 2015 until 11.59pm AEST 9 March 2015 inclusive (‘Promotion Period’). During the Promotion Period you must also book an eligible flight and enter your membership number, ensuring it matches the number you have registered online. Eligible flights are flights for travel between 1 April – 30 September 2015 inclusive that are marketed and operated by Virgin Australia on which Velocity Points can be earned and booked in a fare class that normally earns Points. Codeshare flights marketed or operated by partner airlines are excluded from this promotion. For example if you book a one-way flight from Sydney to New York City you will not earn bonus Points on your Los Angeles – New York City flight, which is operated by Delta Air Lines. Velocity Reward Seat bookings are also excluded. Bonus Points earned are in addition to any Points ordinarily earned and will be applied to base Points only. Any applicable tier bonus earned will not attract bonus Points as a result of this offer. Bonus Points will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades will not attract bonus Points as a result of this offer. For multiple guests listed on the same booking for an eligible flight, each guest must separately register their Velocity membership number online to be eligible for the offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after your eligible activity for the bonus Points to be allocated. Normal Velocity rules apply to retrospective claims which must be raised within 6 months from date of flight. For successful retrospective claims please allow 4 weeks from the time the flight appears in your membership account for the bonus Points to be allocated.
To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Points earn and redemption are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions available at velocityfrequentflyer.com, as amended from time to time.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Can someone remind me whether these bonus points post OK if I cancel bookings and rebook the exact same during the promotion period? I know it's been discussed previously, but I can't remember the outcome!

Having registered now all I have to do is wait until some discount business class fares to NYC are released:(

I can only live in hope!

Phew! Was on the phone with the call centre putting a booking through. Good thing I decided to check AFF and was able to register mine and my wife's VFF numbers before she the transaction was put through! Thanks Grimace1!

You won't earn the bonus all the way to NYC... only to LAX if on a VA operated and marketed flight

As long as you get a new PNR number in the booking date required it will work. Cancel/ change in the same existing PNR will not work

Yes I saw that but still need to see some discount fares come out so I can consider making a booking.

I like the fact that the T&Cs give a plain English example as I'm sure a lot of the general public don't have a clear idea of the differences betwen marketed and operated etc. Then again lots won't read T&Cs the way AFFers do

great thanks! have some upcoming flexi fares during this period - have cancelled and re-booked

A few flights to book but only if there's another domestic special in the next few days.

I know that feeling as well! A dozen flights for me.

So can someone tell me if VFF points are earned on all $$ spent or just on the fare component excluding taxes and surcharges?

Since sabre's Implementation, in my experience velocity points have been based on the total paid - base far and standard taxes, levies and charges - however they have not been earned on any credit card fee.
