I think your correct about the peak time travel, I love to travel outside of business peak times for leisure. However like most people (i would imagine) up to 80% of my tavel is work related and so Im part of the peak hours. I flew Mel - Adel yesterday and there was about 40 people in the priority queue for boarding, funnily even with the large priority queue they still started boarding the non priority queue at the same time and so had people with no status being boarded before a bunch of plat's/business or gold's.

In terms of having plat over gold for this kind of thing it doesnt matter one bit IMO, once i get to the door of the plane it seems that the crew dont care at all that im a plat over a non status pax.
Well said. I travel mostly in non-peak times as majority is leisure travel. Often 1 of only a handful of status passengers useing priority boarding, lounges etc

Just checked on some flights I have with family for Easter and realised I had booked BNE-SYD for return leg instead of SYD-BNE, booked on saver lite fare, just got off the phone from VA explained my error took 2 minutes all changed and no fee. Not sure if WP had anything to do with it but more than happy with the outcome.

Almost certainly. I needed to change some details on an April flight to AKL about a week ago. Like pulling teeth. I think I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours. Given some of the AFF posts around that time I had thought I got off light...

..And they still don't have the correct dietary requirements or the Velocity number for the other person on the PNR.
