VA2 LAX-SYD Aug 24 cancelled???

I;m holding a confirmed booking on VA2 from LAX to SYD on AUgust 24.

I've just received an email to say I am being re-booked on VA8 LAX-BNE and then VA932 from BNE-SYD.

Looking on the VA website for Aug 24 it's no longer showing a direct LAX-SYD flight, i.e. VA2. Anyone heard anything why this mihgt be.

I'm in two-minds in accepting the change or requesting to fly the following day. If I accept the change I get back to Sydney later in the day but rack up an extra flight sector for status requalification'

Wonder if the cancellation has anything to do with the seat refit occuring with the 777's?

Oh damn I was on that flight and had to change flight dates and copped a fee. If only I waited and could have used this situation to change without fees. Oh well.

Hopefully all works out for you and this means they are taking it out of service to refit.

I thought they weren't doing the 777 refurbs until next year!

VA FA on my recent transpacific flight said the 777's are charted for November...the 330's will come first so not likely to be for the refit unfortunately

Werent the A330s going to be done July-Oct this year and the 777s Nov-March?
