Hi All-

I am curious if your VA status shows on SQ boarding passes or on the website.

I am VA Gold, about to be Plat, but while my number shows up fine on the reservation and boarding pass, there is no status on either. And when I use the SQ check-in they always ask me if I have status, and ask for my Velocity card, as if they can't see my status level either.

The points post OK (other than erratic timeframes), so everything is working decently well. Just wondering if SQ can see VA status for other people or not, because they can't seem to see mine.

Cheers

All my trips with VA status (even back on Silver) have had PTNR STATUS GOLD (or SILVER) on the boarding pass. All were booked via singaporeair.com with the VA # in the pax details. But I always hand over my card at check-in with my passport as well.

I do have an upcoming trip that was booked through an agency where I'm not able to add my number, we'll see what happens when I show up at the check-in desk.

One of the directors has had real issues with SQ regarding this during the week. VA WP at the time of booking however at the time of travel was during the "review period" before VA had confirmed the renewed Platinum status.

SQ could not see any status on the system and did not accept the Platinum card with the early October expiry date (even though it had been renewed). All benefits were refused.

It's not a great system.

That's really poor. I honestly don't know why VA can't just send out the renewals in advance when someone has already re-qualified or at least have the log in page show that you have re-qualified.

I agree, it's frustrating when you've requalified months in advance of your review date but still have to wait for several weeks after that date for your status to update and usually even longer for the new card to arrive. I've already requalified, but my review date is in March - I will be flying out to the US a week after that date, so will have to take my current card with me, and am returning via LAX several days after the card expires. Most of the time, I'll be staying at a ranch with little or no internet access, and the Velocity site probably won't be showing my requalified status until later in the trip, so will have to rely on the one night I'm staying near Seattle airport on the way home that the hotel will have a printer available so I can take a print-out of the log-in page to try to avoid any hassles with lounge access at SEA and LAX!! The new card will (possibly) be waiting at home when I get back, but it's not much use to me there!

With regards to the OP's question about status showing on SQ boarding passes, on our recent trip to Sweden in June, our status showed as PTNR STATUS GOLD on all our boarding passes - flights were booked directly with SQ and Velocity numbers were added at time of booking. ETA: Didn't hand over Velocity card when checking in for any of the flights.

Thanks all. I have always booked through my company travel agent but they do add my number and it is on the reservation when I check in. But according to the agents the status doesn't come up in their system. My card is the only proof that I have status to them.

I have an upcoming Silkair flight and sQ flight that I've booked directly. I will see if that is any different.

just came back from a flight booked on SQ with SQ and silkair metal. SQ boarding passes for both shows PTR GOLD as mentioned above.

Handed over my card when checking in for 1 flight, didn't hand it over for my other flight checking in. Still shows PTR gold on both sets of boarding passes

I just checked in with SQ, exactly the same way I've done twice before. Booked through my company TA, same schedule and destination, everything. Now my BP says PTNR PARTNER GOLD. Go figure. Thanks everyone for helping me sort this out somehow! ;)

I'm not looking forward to her return from Shanghai tomorrow!

We've been persisting with VA for a while but the magnitude of difficulties of late is starting a bit of a shift against them. Unfortunately QF isn't much better.

Just got back from trip to UK on SQ and both inbound and outbound flight's boarding pass showed "Partner Silver", despite being VA Gold - called the service centre who confirmed that I was gold, but had no idea why it didn't show up on SQ's system.

All 4 lounges and 2 check in desks accepted my Velocity card as proof of status (and wow having a priority tag on your luggage makes all the difference when an A380 empties out 400 people and their bags at Heathrow T2!).

Did SYD-LHR return with SQ in July, booked through SQ and on SQ metal every leg. Partner Gold status was on all my boarding passes, handed over my membership card at check-in in Sydney and was told I didn't need it as the status was in their system (from memory either the check-in or lounge staff in LHR wanted to double check the card, but the status was showing)

In fact only issue I had, apart from late arriving aircraft delaying us in Singapore was the gate agent in Singapore questioning why I was in the Business line with an Economy BP, but a quick point to the Partner Status on the pass and we were fine.

By the looks of it they seem to be pretty good with this if you're booked through them, can't speak for a VA or travel agent booking though.
