If I was able to book on an NZ flight number on FJ metal from NAN-LAX could I earn Virgin status credits? I am looking for an interesting and affordable Australia to USA route in J, in mid July. Matrix comes up with NAN-LAX return with an Air New Zealand flight number for an attractive price. VA website says NZ flights to Pacific islands earn no SC; but what about NAN-LAX? I doubt it, but do you know?
It would always be good for QF status which is fine, but for this trip I am most interested in trying to accumulate VA status.
