I have a lot of NAB Rewards points and I need to fly to MEL-SIN-MEL in a few few months.

Booking VA 'any seat' premium economy will run about 277,000 VA points for the, which is not great value.
The same is 90,000 KF miles at the moment (premium economy sale), which is less than half (equiv. to 121,500 Velocity points), and even better with the current 15% Rewards to Velocity promo.

I believe the VA 'any seat' flight will earn status credits. (However, I know a 'reward/award' seats won't)
But their website does say:

Velocity points and Status Credits can not be earned on...
Any Singapore Airlines flight where KrisFlyer miles have been used as a form of payment irrespective of the fare class flown

Which sounds like there will be no VA status credits earned if I book this way. Albeit much better value...
Anyone done this, and can confirm either way?
