Have been flying a lot lately.

If client pays, it's usually awful Qantas.

If I pay fly VA especially to USA.

Flew Ex BNE on VA using ff points.

Had a ff ticket which had to postpone due to flu.

After ½ hour on phone they said can change for $35.

Got to airport early as had luggage to check (normally I don’t)

Had to Q for 5 mins for kiosk & QR code on boarding pass wouldn’t work, so had to type in name, then pick flight destination etc. (don’t carry plastic cards around except for credit cards- leave drivers licence at home) & then somehow ended up in priority lane (am silver, whatever that means).

Why don’t VA have bag drop like Qantas ? VA bag drop is not bag drop.

There 5 mins & happy very old bag ladsy/check in person (not) told me to go away & get in the very long Q. Took 15 mins.

Put bag on convenor & presumed I then started to walk away & check in person said need to see my boarding pass(not sure why).

So this procedure took well over 20 mins, whereas last time flew Qantas, took no time, maybe 1 min.

Virgin really needs to fix this.

I'd be amazed if this was on Virgin's priority list. Though they are rolling out the newer system.
Not sure this is major disadvantage, 20 mins to check-in isn't major in my opinion for international.
