Our corporate travel agent has just booked me BNE-NTL outbound on VA returning on QF and both flights are showing in Manage your booking in QF and NOT showing in VA's website.

Is this normal??? This is the first time I've booked a 'mixed itinerary' as QF don't operate to suit my timings (not allowed to book j*).

interesjngly trip case shows the VA flight as a QF flight 'operated by VA' which I find hilarious!

Now that VA is hosted in in a GDS (Sabre) as oppposed to Navitaire an agent may book a pax outbound on VA and inbound on QF & vv in the one GDS pnr.

It's not uncommon for companies with a BFOD policy may have an account with QBT who in turn book the pax on VA so they have a QF pnr with VA flights in it which can be a trap for young players as they arrive at the QF terminal thinking they're flying QF because they've got a QF itinerary.....containing VA flights on closer inspection.

yes I have booked clients and myself on mixed VA and QF on one PNR. Just have to issue each ticket separately. I also found the VA flight on Qantas.com 'my bookings'.

yes, this always happened to me when I booked flights one way with VA and the other with QF. I ended up requesting the travel agent do it as two separate bookings as I usually found I couldn't check in online for the VA flight.

i've had no issues with OLCI using this method, you may need the VA pnr within the pnr :)

When I have done this in the past I have always been three booking references.

1. Booking agent reference number (CWT)
2. Qantas reference - which shows the qantas flight and virgin flight in MMB (but nothing can be done with the VA flight)
3. A separate VA PNR

You will need to ask your agent for the VA (SABRE) PNR to look it up on "VA.com".

If the agent can't provide it, call VA armed with your name and flight details and get it from them.

Thanks for the responses everyone. It all makes sense now! Hopefully this will be the only time I have to fly VA as I need the QF SC's to maintain WP this year!!

No DSC's here :(
