We have made a booking on Virgin Adelaide - Singapore which is with Singapore airlines. My partner is Gold velocity, and this is noted in his booking. We are unable to select seats etc as the two systems don't talk to each other. All they have done is noted that we are flying together (given we are on the same booking, that isn't rocket science) so more likely that we will be sitting together! Given Gold status with Velocity, do we get any priority check-in experience at the airport at the SQ counter?

Not sure how it is for code shares, but when flying with SQ I can usually call them up >48 hours in advance to choose a better seat. I've also experienced better service when calling their Singapore number(+65 6223 8888) though this might be by coincidence.

Ah, I'd forgotten lounge access! That is sweet. I called SQ Adelaide (Australia) and they werent much help so I'll try the Singapore tip closer to travel. Thankyou!

So, for Adelaide, would I be using the Domestic Virgin club or the lounge provided by SQ which I think is after Immigration? I can't remember how post Immigration works for Adelaide.

Can you use the silverkris lounge in SIN with VA Gold travelling on SQ Metal?

No, VA elites can only use the Krisflyer Star Gold lounge

Unless flying business, first or suites on SQ, in which case you could use the relevant SilverKris lounge for your class of travel.

I've never been to the SIN Silver Kris lounge, but the Krisflyer Gold lounges are OK - OK food, wifi speed OK, but inexplicably no showers or toilets!

I would be surprised if the Silver Kris wasn't significantly nicer.

Curious if they had the same food offerings, if they did not too bad I suppose.

Thanks for the info. Is the silver kris a much better lounge?

i believe so - it has showers whereas Kris Gold doesn't I think is the main difference

Yes... the SKL is actually 3 lounges (2 in T2), but all of them are nicer. This is especially noticable in T3, which is their flagship lounge / terminal.

If you have a PriortyPass, Diners Club or some AmEx cards, then the SATS lounge has a couple of showers (T1/T2/T3).
