Using voucher on Batik Air - middle name issue

A friend (yes really) has used a flight credit to book flights with Malindo Air operated by Batik Air MEL-DPS departing in January. The passenger details were taken from the flight credit which did not include her daughter's middle name. My friend is terribly worried that her daughter will be denied boarding, and Batik Air says that to include the middle name on the booking would incur a fee of $69 plus the fare difference.

I am sure that there would be no issue at all in having a ticket with the same First Name/Last Name as the passport but without the middle name. I have done this myself on many airlines without even a thought and even flown when first name and last name have been juxtaposed. But I have never flown on Batik...

Is anyone able to offer a few words of reassurance to my friend?

On edit - apologies I had misunderstood my friend and thought it was a QF flight credit - it wasn't. I will ask a moderator to move the thread.

How did they manage to use a QF flight credit for a booking on Batik Air?

I don't know - I have got the story from someone who does not know the system and may be using incorrect terminology. I am really interested in the issue of middle names.

I’ve flown Batik Air (ID) a few times and have never included a middle name on my booking. These have been domestic Indonesian flights and I’ve had to use my passport as identifikasi. The middle name has never been mentioned.

Middle name is not going to be an issue I reckon.

However if really worried your friend could simply call the airline (or bring up the booking and see if there's a spot for APIS). Either way I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I too am curious how a flight credit could be used on an airline - specially as I do not think it's a QF codeshare so.... seems strange.. but method of payment isn't really relevant to the question.
