Hi everyone - is it just me or is everyone getting excited about being able to travel internationally??!! I have a bunch of FF points and travel credit and want to meet up with my kids in hawaii. Is there a way I can soon use that to book my airfares? I was looking at Hawaiian Airlines but we can't book through Virgin at the moment? Has anyone heard any news on that front? thx.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes! Now just the other states (looking at you QLD) need to make a move.

Last month Velocity said they expected international points redemptions including partners to resume in December. Nothing is clear yet but it is still expected to be able to use velocity points on Hawaiian Airlines flights however as space on Hawaiian services was rather rare pre covid I'd expect nothing to change.

Regarding your flight credits. If you have future flight credits (that is a credit from before VA went into administration) then you can only use them on VA operated flights. Regular travel bank credits can normally be used on partner airlines but it just remains to be seen if Virgin continues to sell tickets on partner airlines like they did pre-pandemic.

As above it's unclear if anyone will be able to book partner cash fares through Virgin ever again (or at least not for the short term). Currently Hawaiian only has flights loaded in from the 17th of December, now obviously the date has moved due to what was a rather sudden announcement this morning so I'd expect over the coming days we might see them move flights around both to match the new rules and demand.
