The US Department Of Justice has blasted the proposed granting of anti-trust immunity to Continental Airlines and nine Star Alliance carriers ,claiming "it is likely to result in harm" on many international routes.

I'd prefer to see price fixing executives jailed rather than fines being borne by shareholders or built back into prices.

Yeah, well technically in an open economy there is no such thing as price fixing as in theory other players will move in and provide competition. Problem is when the greatest price fixing cartel of all - the federal government - limits the players and the routes they can fly.

Free market economies work extremely well but it's been more than a century now since there was one.....
