So I've got a ticket on hold WLG-AKL-BKK-IST-SJJ, back PRG-IST-BKK-SIN-CHC-WLG

Outbound I'm quite happy, though would rather take the next BKK-IST flight (which involves 14.5 hour layover) to connect with the rest of the family, but the flight back is a disaster. The route back I can find myself a better PRG-IST-SIN connection that leaves 7 hours later and then connnects with the SIN-CHC flight and for some reason the CHC-WLG leg is 24 hours after I arrived in CHC. Not sure this is really even valid, he did say it was his last call of the day and had been a longs day! (Incidentally he was very friendly agent just not sure he was very capable!).

Question is, am I best just letting this expire and try again or should I ring up and "suggest" some of the options I have found. Am not flying until June next year so a bit of time to wait should the wait and try again option be preferred!
