Nothing new here, but the author seems to forget that he also had to go though security in transit at HKG. The way it's written it sounds like he just walked from a plane to the other.

To be fair to the US CBP, they have recently installed "smartgate" type machine in many airports.

I think there is a failure by the author to recognise that LOTFAP is pretty much unique in mixing DOM and INT in the one terminal.
