Hello AFF. I have a friend of a friend who needs to get home back to the UK. Of course they have left it to the last minute (long story). Ethiad recently canned them from its flights. Singapore, HKG, Taiwan appear out. Anyone with any ideas about the quickest way for them to get a flight (if it is even possible any longer)? They are in Melbourne at the moment but heading to Syd.

Qantas to London tomorrow? It is going via Darwin to avoid the stop in SIN because of current government restrictions.

Something here on FT about SYD-DRW-LHR might be worth looking into:

Yeah struggling to find it available on the QF website. Doubt I would get through on the phone at the moment either...

Go to the airport first thing in the morning and go to the sales desk either at domestic or international. The flights are so fluid at the moment with passengers loads. But go earlier to try and secure as others will be trying to change too.

Emirates is still a good bet.

Emirates are stopping all flights from the 25th. Unless you get on EK415 (6am) and then connect on something to the UK it would be very risky.

I think ANA via HND is still operating. Possibly also Qatar Airways.

I had a message from QF this morning telling me to call them re: my QF2 flight tonight. 5 hour wait, no thanks. Was 2h yesterday.

Sorry, things changing so quickly.

Go to googleflights. See what's there. Then cross reference with the respective airline's website for ticketing and any transit restrictions.

Cathay Pacific still has a flight to the UK from MEL to LHR, transit via hong kong (before the transit restrictions come in to place tomorrow night). AUD1035. Looks like it departs at 3.35pm this afternoon.

QR is currently still flying. What about QF 9 out of PER?
