Hey all, just after clarification from someone who may have tried something similar before.
I'm off to the US for 4 months in August, certain dates departing so booking a Y Saver out, and returning sometime late NOV/ early DEC.
This return date is a little ambiguous so is being booked as a flexi (hence mixed fare class)

As a lowly red I'm unable to upgrade the entire return journey, however my question is whether or not I can upgrade the SYD-PER leg of the return itinerary?

Reading up I'm thinking this is possible, but happy to be corrected!

Cheers!

Only gold and above can upgrade international but i dont see why you wouldnt be able to upgrade the domestic leg. It falls within the rules. I havent done it myself though

you should be able to because when i recently booked Y+ SYD-BNE-LAX and called to upgrade, the international leg was upgraded and then i had to use more points to upgrade SYD-BNE
