Upgrading at the gate? Group/reward flights

Hi

I have a ticket from SQ which is on a group booking, and another which is a reward flight ticket (through VA). In both cases, it's not possible to upgrade in any way from the manage booking feature on SQ's website because of the type of ticket it is. Both are economy.

My question is, would it be possible to upgrade the SYD -> SIN section of these tickets at the gate? Does SQ do that?

And any idea what the cost might be for that leg, to upgrade to business or maybe premium economy?
