UpgradeMe pricing and success

For early-mid October 16

PER-SYD - Economy Elevate, min bid is 430
SYD-PER- Economy Getaway, min bid is 490

Given work has paid for the initial tickets, Y is chockers, and this forum has ruined my ability to sit in Y - may as well give it a burl.

Now the trick is to use the company credit card and call it 'stationary' on your expenses... :)

Minimum bids I submitted recently for 4 sectors BNE-CBR were $140 ... and they were off AMEX comp flights.

I sector accepted at min. bid of $140. Three to go.

2 sectors now accepted at min, bid of $140. Two to go. As these were AMEX comp flights for my (now) red wife and red daughter, I reckon J for $140 is very good value! Priority everything, lounge, business seat and whatever meal offered all included and honestly, SCs would be no use to us anyway!

Have read through a number of the last pages - anyone had success using UpgradeMe on a transpacific flight?

Final two sectors also accepted at min. bid of $140.

ADL-PER upgrade success for this Saturday. Did minimum bid of $190. Purchased original ticket for 200.
Interesting im flying back with qantas and got a offer to upgrade , I didnt back checked for comparison and it was $220 min bid plus 4000 points .

Out of interest, can anyone tell me what the vendor is for the credit card charge for a successful bid? Wondering if it's VA, does this count for a valid spend to trigger an Amex rebate offer (like the current "spend $150, get $30")? Or is the vendor something other than VA?

How long before the flights were the bids accepted?

I just submitted a bid for BNE-MEL for the min bid of $150, also on Amex comp flight - hoping it gets accepted before Nov 20 (flight is Dec 2), to also trigger $30 credit by Amex! Though I think I submitted the wrong credit card expiry date!

You can go in and modify your credit card details at any time.
Though I did the same thing once and I got an email saying I was successful, but the transaction failed. It gave me a link to update the credit card details and it processed the following day.

The vendor comes up as Virgin Australia. I had the spend $150 with VA and get $30 back offer which triggered on a successful upgrade bid last week. OOL-ADL x 2 pax upgrade bid at $180 accepted and ADL-OOL x 2 upgrade bid at $170 accepted. Both from saver fares of $140 dollars.

Offered SYD-HTI minimum upgrademe premium bid price of $320 each way. Saver fare . Currently in Row 3.
J4 available in Row 2
Most of rows 3-11 unoccupied.

me thinks not worth it

wonder if price will go down?

Where is HTI and why do people use abbreviations instead of just saying the location?

spacebar

Hamilton Island - Because it's easier I would say. I often refer to the airport code when speaking about where I am going.

Note: I have MEL-OOL for next Friday. Minimum bid of $270 for each passenger. No thanks VA.

Handful of data points from upcoming trips, minimum bids were:
- MEL-OOL $260, Elevate fare
- BNE-MEL $150, Elevate fare
- MEL-BNE $260, Freedom fare
- BNE-LAX $600, Freedom to Premium
- LAX-MEL $1400, Premium Saver to Business
