Hi all,

I'm almost certain that this is impossible, but here's what I'm aiming to achieve:

1. MEL-LAX on VA in Y and then upgrade using points
2. LAX-SFO on DL or VX in F as a VA codeshare (mainly for the flown sector to retain status)

Has anyone attempted this or similar?

Thanks to all who reply!

It may be be possible to get the SFO flights booked as with a "Conjunction" Ticket under VA codeshares (VA*VX/VA*DL)(if they exist) by using a TA or calling VA.

You may find (if available) the VA First pricing surprisingly high.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There isn't a fare that allows Y long haul and F domestic US, so the short answer is no. You also won't be able to use the VA codeshare domestically in the US without a long haul VA flight number on the same ticket, so you would need to use the DL or VX flight number for LAX-SFO. You can put the two tickets in the same PNR though.

Same PNR would be better than separate - it would potentially allow me to transfer any checked bags without having to drag them outside to Terminal 3 or Terminal 6!

I have transferred DL to VA on separate PNRs. They have taken the bags, however could not issue Boarding passes. Bags arrived so it worked :)
