Hi,

My husband (platinum) has an award booking in J Melb - lax return in January.

Ive just booked my daughter Y seat on same flights. ( bronze)

I needed to speak to the call centre as I had a voucher to use.

I spoke with a lovely lady who was most helpful. She also linked my daughters booking with my husbands, and put in an upgrade request using his points. She said that my daughter would get husbands status for upgrades because we are using his points.

Is this correct? I can't seem to find the info on the website.

Im aware that as a bronze she has little chance of upgrade coming through, but if platinum, she has a better chance. I don't want to get her hopes up, if this is incorrect.

Thanks in advance,

TQ

Are you talking about Qantas or another airline?

If Qantas, normally this would only be true if your husband was Platinum One, not a "mere" platinum. However maybe the bookings being linked might make a difference.
