I fully appreciate that this may be a long shot...

My flights just got changed at the last minute from South African to Emirates and I've been booked in J. I rarely fly EK, so want to try and take advantage of the situation and try out one of the first class suites. I have no status with EK, and not a whole lot of miles in the bank, so I'm wondering if it's possible to pay for an upgrade to F? Do I just need to ring them up and see if there's availability and give them my cc details? Or am I out of luck due to lack of status etc.?

Thanks in advance :)

you would have a much better chance if you asked at the gate prior to departure :) just pay the difference!
