Hi,
I'll be flying MEL HKG Milan in J in October. I will have knee surgery before then and was wondering what my options are to upgrade to F for the HKG Milan leg in order to get the extra wiggle room etc.
I am Gold QF with 210k points atm but as far as I know that's of no help. I'm happy to pay cash a how much would I be looking at?
When is the best time to try this? Now via CX booking hotline, at the airport in MEK or in HKG?
Thanks, Christian

I'm not sure there is that much difference in terms of space between CX F and J in terms of feet area. Perhaps a little wider on the F seat, but really not by that much. Personally I wouldn't be upgrading for that reason, but you might have special reasons.

I think the option to upgrade is to pay the difference in fare. This is likely to be fairly expensive... if you do a sample booking on the CX website that should give you an indication.
