Going through my flight history and adding to my spreadsheet I have found an interesting line in my activity statement.

I am fairly sure this came about from missing a flight due to the grounding of flights after 9/11/01 however I am not sure exactly what it entails. Also can anyone identify what class I travelled on QF107?

Thanks

Also if anyone can identify if the following where in Business or First? Current SC calculator shows it being right in the middle so I assume the requirements have changed.

QF used to use paper certificates for upgrades. When the conversion was made to upgrade credits (which sadly, no longer exist), any outstanding paper award certificates were automatically changed to upgrade credits. This was great at the time - I think I purchased about 15 or 20 cretificates before the conversion as the conversion rate to upgrade credits was extremely favourable !

I have another a few months earlier showing as well. So it has nothing to do with my flight on the 14th being canceled?

They were good, you coud get a cert for MEL/SYD-CBR for 1750 QFF points ;)

In September 2001, QFF did away with the paper certs and introduced upgrade credits - and converted those who had 'paper' one to electronic. For most it was 1:1 but for those with the gifted recognition certificates it was 2 UC's each.

As far as SC earning goes, the then 5 zones were refined to the current 10 in May 2005. I'll try to fine and old reference.

Thanks. So how could upgrade certificates and credits be redeemed? Basically just one per sector for Y to J upgrade? Also If you manage to find the old SC earn chart that would be fantastic.

The 'purchased with points' certs were for one flight number/segment. e.g. One could be used for MEL-OOL on QF400 (which had a stopover, and often an aircraft change in SYD) but 2 were required if the routing via SYD had two different flight numbers (e.g. QF402/QF784) - the cost varied with zonal distance.

The 'recognition' type certificates could be used for one one-way journey anywhere within domestic Oz. e.g. PER-xADL-xMEL-xBNE-CNS. These were awarded on re/qualification of a level, 1 for PS, 2 for SG/WP.

This FT post may indicate the old Zone, still looking for SC earn:

5 . 8,751 - 15,000

[Edit]
OK, found a definitive post on FT - seems those 150SC flights were in First:

That makes 8751-9600 coach go from 55k to 56k and 9601-15000 go from 55k to 64k.. both losses

Status credit wise, things are a little better. Table shows old/new SC's earned per zone. Bold indicates net loss of SC's. Main loss is the 5000-5800 mile region, with a net loss of SC's in all classes. This includes most Europe - North America and North America - South America routes.
