United Airlines B777 Seating - How good is it?

Unless you are both under about 160cm, avoid row 10 as you will be unable to extend your feet in that row.

As for the footrest, your legs need to be relatively short to get any effective use out of it.

I knew there was a reason why I never used it.

Thanks folks. Looks like we may have a reasonably comfortable flight BNE-LAX...

We wanted to fly Qantas but unfortunately its fares were out of reach. And I've been told that they are reconfiguring the A380s to fit more economy seats, which means an even worse pax:toilet ratio (as well as not being as comfortable).

Yep, as we found out. Fairly well useless, for me. Missus didn't find them of much use, either.

Those UA J SYD - SFO seats that look like little coffins (the orange seats), do they actually face into each other the way they look on the seat plan? They say they are flat, but are they really?

Does the Y+ seat for an extra $145 give you appreciable extra room 5" it says, and free coffee and water. Whoppee.

Yup, they alternate forwards and backwards.

Given all those who say that they don't wish to chat on planes, this layout seems a 'disaster', don't you think?

IFE monitors are in between. You would have to be quite tall to actually be staring over the top of the divider and talk to the person facing you.

That's good to know as I found some promo photos, can't remember where now, that didn't show any divider, but showed one person, and others too actually, all looking straight at the person facing and being very chatty. It all looked very 'uncomfortable.

If you google 'united business 777' and select 'images' you will see an accurate picture of the seats.

Economy plus gives you the extra legroom. Friends flew back from the states and said it was more comfortable than the journey over (regular economy).
