I had an annual multi-trip policy that started on 1 May 2019. Obviously I wasn't able to get much benefit from it after February.
I hadn't thought about the policy as I didn't have any trips planned so I was surprised to receive an email from NIB at the end of November suggesting that I may like to request the policy be cancelled and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused portion (18 March to 30 April), provided I didn't need to make a claim for cancelled travel during that period.
So I filled in the attached form and just received notification that they have calculated my refund at ~$83.
It may be worthwhile contacting your insurance company if you had a similar policy.
