Need some help in understanding some Accor Le Club basics around attaining the next Status level, moving from Gold to Platinum.

It's not too clear in the T&Cs, but is the "year" to achieve the next level (moving from Gold to Platinum) a rolling twelve-month period, similar to VA's Status Attaining year?

On the Activity Statement, it has "Date of arrival" and "Transaction date". Which date is used to determine the 365-day Status qualification period?

I need to earn only another 230 points to achieve the 25K for Platinum and I'm trying to work out when I need to earn that by.

My first stay is listed with "Date of arrival" as 18-Aug-2014 and "Transaction date" as 23-Aug-2014. Obviously, if I can earn the additional points well before then, things will be fine, but based on a booking I may need to make, it might be as late as arrival date of 16-Aug-2015 with 2 night stay. It then states that points may take up to 7 days to post. If it's based on "Date of arrival", I should be fine, but if it's Transaction date, and if that stay posts after 23-Aug-2015, I might have a problem, right?

You hold your new status for 12 months commencing when you cross the points threshold to the same period the following year.

I crossed the threshold to Gold without realising it few years ago and I still don't know when the anniversary date is! I called once but they couldn't tell me either. Doesn't really matter - I stay when I stay.

Found it:

7.6. STATUS levelS
A Member moves up to the next Status level once he/she has satisfied the conditions for obtaining that Status level, which he/she keeps for a period of 12 months (365 days).

A Member moves up to the next Status level once he/she has satisfied the conditions for obtaining that Status level, which he/she keeps for a period of 12 months (365 days).

If, at the end of this period, the Member once again satisfies the conditions required for this Status level, the Status level is then renewed for an additional 12 months (365 days). If the Member
does not satisfy these conditions during the current 12-month period, he/she will be given the Status corresponding to his/her activity calculated over the preceding 365 days (based on the
scale in the above table) at the end of this period. A new card corresponding to the Member's new Status is sent automatically within 4 weeks.

The use of Points has no effect on whether or not a Member keeps the same Status or changes Status.

In the event that a change in Membership Status occurs in the time between booking and Check-out, the Status at the time of Checkout is used as the basis for earning Points. For a stay of several
consecutive nights, the Member receives a single Points credit after settling the entire bill.

I keep my old card and bin it when the new one arrives.

The first clause of that sentence doesn't seem to put a limit on how long it has to take you to satisfy the conditions for obtaining a status level. Eg in my case, I'm nearing to the 25k point level (the condition to obtain Platinum).. But that's my main question... Do I have to satisfy the conditions within a certain time period? Or, is it such that I can earn the extra 230 points I need sometime in the next months, and at that time, I'll attain Platinum?

The second clause tells me I'll get to keep the status for 12 months, but I already knew that.

I would jump on e-Rewards Opinion Panel | Member Login and do a couple of surveys for the 230 points. Once you've got the points transfer them to your Accor account and close the e-rewards account. They are spamming me with surveys atm so it should be easy to get the points. To answer your original question I suspect the transaction date is known as the check out date to you and me.

Cheers

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks for the suggestion... it would save having to make a one-night booking. However, I had a look at the e-rewards site and it is join-by-invitation only. Any idea how I can get an invitation to join?

Edit: I found a link via the Accor website... happy days.
