UK Scraps Landing Cards

Does anyone have an exact date when Australian citizens will be able to use the e-gates?

All articles say June. I will be arriving in the first week of June and would like to avoid the lines if possible.

Effective Monday the the UK will scrap landing cards. I bet the cabin crew will be happy, halting those early morning requests from passengers for a pen.

An airline accountant has probably calculated the savings derived from not having to give out as many pens!

Does anyone know if this will this apply to the e-passport gates for the Eurostar?

The Straits Times article linked above appears to indicate yes...

"This service, which also includes arrivals via Eurostar terminals, allows faster and secure processing of passengers entering Britain's borders."

I will try next month as I will be travelling on the Eurostar (departing Paris, where you actually use the UK arrival e-gates, not in London) as well as arriving into LHR.
