Two persons on a booking - can it be split?

It must be the week for me having questions on here! Except this one is for a friend.

Two of them are travelling on one booking/single booking reference number on an international trip - booked on the QF website(I think), all on QF flights. One of them may need to stay longer now due to an opportunity coming up. Can that person extend their trip independently of the other person on the same booking or do they both have to travel together for the entire booking?

Was the booking part of the 2-for-1 J specials that were going around earlier in the year?

Yes, the PNRs can be split. A call to QF will do the trick.

No, I think it might have been an Early Bird discount economy.

Ah ok, then as above. It’s just in the 2-for-1 there were strict conditions stopping you from splitting them.
