Hello everyone !!
Just a heads up for anyone planing on flying with Turkish Airlines Domestic / AJet. Yesterday I was asked my age due to sitting in an Exit row seat 15D, This was the first time this has ever happened, and I have flown these airlines on multiple occasions. I offered an honest answer, early 60's. I was then advised that due to an age limit cutoff of 60 I would be moved to a non exit row seat. As you could imagine I was less than impressed, I'm a fit and healthy 60+. The up shot of this post is just to make passengers aware that to maintain you seat selection that you haver paid for. Rehearsed a few times before taking your seat "Im 58, Im 58, Im 58" ):):):).

Thanks for the advice! That's a bit worrying - I wonder if will now set a precedent? As a lot of us more mature flyers have more time to travel, they could be losing a few customers...

A little bit short sighted and odd. I’m in support of the AFF retiree / 60+ community!

My parents are +60 and super fit, full faculties. Contra to this, I’ve seen grossly obese younger (than 60) people stuffed into an exit rows and doubted very much they’d be able to move fast enough to save themselves let alone others and open an exit door quickly.

Not that many, but still a few years until I hit 60. But it won't affect me at least on the route between MEL-SIN. I flew TK last week in economy, and no way I was going to stump up almost $300 to allocate an exit row seat. Nor was of the mind to pay $90 to allocate myself a standard seat on the flight.
