Hi guys,

I'm still very new here so hope you can help me.

I tried to book a flight on the SQ site in Y Multi-City/Stopover .

PER - KIX stopover
KIX - SIN stopover
SIN - FRA stopover
FRA - JFK stopover
JFK - FRA stopover
FRA - PER stopover

Try to charge me close to A$ 10.000 ......it's Economy .

Can't be right, so what do I do wrong???

I don't book on the SQ site, I use Galileo being a TA, so not an expert on their site, but being familiar with fares, my guess is that your routing is contravening any available discounted fare so its quoting you full gross on the entire journey.

There's no fare in existance with SQ that lets you fly via KIX onto Europe and USA, back to Europe and home (that i'm aware of), even their quasi RTw i'm sure won't do it.

Best bet is to find a reputable TA and see what they can do for you or cut the Japan sector out and it should be alot more friendly on your wallet.

Hi Travel Guru,
The reason I try to book on SQ site is my Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card. Plenty of extra KF miles.
I may have to book single tickets.
PER - JFK and fit SIN - KIX in between.
That may work.

Thanks for your advice.

You should find if you put a stopover in SIN and do a separate ticket SIN-KIX-SIN that it'll cost out far better.

Can I find somewhere a 'live' seatmap of SQ flights (before booking)? I have made bookings on the SQ site recently but could only choose a seat once the payment was approved.

Expertflyer will have "live" seat maps for SQ R, F and J, but not Y.

AFAIK, SeatCounter does not give seat maps ...

But at least it shows how many seats are still available in Y etc. ;).

By the way, which airline shows the complete Y seating for reservation before booking???

Cheers

Thanks for trying to assist but I'm after a live seatmap, as SQ (as I would like to allocate certain seats eg. on the SQ A380 upper deck where it's much more quieter and with less pax than on the lower deck. Also upper deck have more couple seats if I recall correctly, versus the 3-4-3 config of downstairs.

Many airlines indeed show "available" seats before booking. AA is one.

Other than that, see post #9.
