I recently flew to Perth for four days on Qantas. Originally purchasing a cheap economy ticket and using points to upgrade on the A330-200 to fantastic business class seats.

You can read the whole trip report here: https://nathanburgessinsights.com/category/short-breaks/ .

I reviewed QF769 here: https://nathanburgessinsights.com/2017/05/05/flight-review-qf769-melbourne-to-perth/ and QF476 here: https://nathanburgessinsights.com/2017/05/08/flight-review-qf476-perth-to-melbourne/

I also visited and reviewed he Perth Qantas Business Lounge here: https://nathanburgessinsights.com/2017/05/08/lounge-review-qantas-perth-domestic-business-lounge/

I hope the flight and business lounge reviews are useful.

Thanks for posting.

Chorizo dog, and ice cream sticks are hardly premium fare. Still, for a points upgrade the QF experience is pretty good. The seats / space have certainly grown on me.

But having now done a few trans-con flights in business class on both QF and VA, I think VA wins on this particular route.

I'll have to try the VA business class next then :)

I had a look at your blog and it's fantastic. I've read through the Antarctic adventure!! Camping on the mainland must have been a highlight.

Looking forward to reading the other posts.

Thanks Freq Flier. I have a number of trip reports I only posted on AFF which focus on flights and hotels whereas the blog concentrates on the experiences. Trying to Bri g them together.

Camping on Antartica was an amazing life highlight. We could have camped on an island or the mainland most times due to weather it ends up an island so very fortunate.

Lots of penguins where walking around the temp campsite without a worry in the world. We aren't seen as a predator down there, in fact the walk faster on the ice and snow then most of us humans could manage :)

If you can afford it I'd highly recommend a visit to Antartica, the air is so clear, the environment is just stunning (the shades of bright blue from icebergs submerged are to be experienced). I'm been very fortunate to have this experienc

Enjoyed it and can relate to weekend trips for the footy.
I'm heading over to Adelaide next weekend to see Port belt the daylights out of my beloved Tigers.
