Hi there,

My partner has a criminal record for Fraud, this charge carried no jail sentence.

Would this type of crime deny him entry into the USA?

Thanks in advance

Yes it very well could...

Have a look at Immigration & Customs (Where this thread is no doubt about to be moved to), there are many threads on this topic in there.

There is a spent conviction law in place that may, depending on the time since he was convicted, might help him otherwise he will have to apply for a visa. Do this well before traveling because it can take some time.

Zsdp, I applied for a Visa with a fraud charge no jail time and it was 10 years ago. I did eventually get approved but never got to go. My advise to you is start the process now, do not book anything. The time it takes to get your passport back is extremly long and once you recieve the visa you only have 45 days to use it............Plan as such the things you want to do then once you have your passport with the approval, get organising with flights etc and payments.....I am speaking from experience. Take your criminal record and any info you can to help with your case the less searching they have to do the better. Expect to be denied when you go for the interview.

Goodluck.

There are previous threads on this topic which cover lots of things. I read them because one of our staff members had to disclose his history. He was without his passport for about 16 weeks but got to YES without his employer having to help.
He got married in Vegas this month so he was a success story.
Do Not purchase a non refundable air ticket nor hotel accommodation as it is a slow process of waiting and hoping.
