Not sure what's going on at VA but the home page is currently advertising a "Travel Together and Save Sale"
No advice as to applicable dates, routes, restrictions.

The declaimer does say "Conditions Apply" but no one in the call centre seems to know what those conditions are.

And no one can actually get the system to apply the right discount.

Please get yourselves sorted BEFORE publicising a promotion!

It doesn't excuse them from not putting it on the website, but if you're interested, here's the e-mail I received overnight:

https://email.virginaustralia.com/p...xWxeg4EAhrDipPRzbyCroLYuxBr71dsT4QOQUmYs1Ro0.

* Fares are on sale until 3 June 2013 unless sold out prior, for travel from 22 July 2013 to 18 September 2013, 14 October 2013 to 12 December 2013 and 4 February 2014 to 28 March 2014. Discount is only available on Saver and Saver Lite Fares on domestic routes. Seats are limited and may not be available at peak times or on all flights. Here is the relevant bit from the email.

I'm glad you lot receive the emails.

I'm now plat, have various Virgin add-ons (VM etc) have tried repeatedly to get their cough system to start emailing me info and still to no avail.

Pretty poor when, as a so called valuable elite status flyer, I have to hear about their promos via forums or social media.

Didn't VA recently employ a new IT guru? He seems to be overpaid.

OH and to VA, I did receive an email today.......from Jetstar, introducing "Club Jetstar". I actually regularly recieve the JQ and QF news but not VA. Excuse me while I go and read what Club Jetstar are offering.

Hi Naggi, the discount is calculated through the booking process, depending on the number of passengers booked.
The applicable sale fares, sale and travel periods are all outlined on the best fares page.
The call centre team have had the information reiterated again to them.

Anything interesting? (joking!)

Send a private message with your details and your email address Swanning_It, and we will check into it.

Personally I'm rather thankful that my JQ emails usually arrive late - eg Saturday arvo for Friday frenzy. Good luck with club Jetstar. Based on their track record they'll send me the special emails after the sale ends - I'm not paying $40 for that... ;)

...how are you enjoying the Club? Awesome, isn't it. Dayspa, coughtails, party-pies - all yours for $39 at Club J :p

I too didn't get this email although I do receive my statements and credit card offers on a regular basis.

never had a problem with JQ emails, Friday frenzy usually hits my inbox 3pm on a Friday.

There are three of us and we never get the vmail alerts after registering using a home and a gmail address

i think I signed up for VA emails four or five times before I started receiving them. It just didn't like me apparently :p

I'm in the same boat. Logged in to my account yesterday after reading this and checked my Vmail preferences. Again it said that I am already registered for this, but the last email that I received was back in Feb.

Am also receiving the Friday Frenzy J* and Jetmail regularly. Hmmmm....

Uhmm, VA has already been informed (multiple times) who swanning_it is, but thank you for the offer VFF.

To be honest, I doubt you can do anything about it, as this has been ongoing for years, but if you can, that just highlights the utter contempt VA holds for their pax, as if you can "fix" it......why doesn't the system get fixed as a whole instead?............ but I guess that is a rude observation.

As for your "anything interesting quip", the point I was making was not whether JQ had "anything" interesting, but more the fact that even a piss-poor LCC can manage to get emails out to their members, so is there "anything interesting"?.........Yes, there is......they can manage Information Technology which you lot cannot! How's that make you feel? Embarrassed and shamed hopefully!

I have an idea. How about you return your fares to LCC levels until such time you can honestly command better.

C'mon the joking part is pretty funny! just set up an additional email address that comes into the same inbox and see if that works.

I did not see this email either.

I did receive 2 emails yesterday "Velocity News program updates plus new benefits and partners‏".

In reply to the suggestion that "I should fix my end" (setting up other email addresses etc), my thoughts on that is why medicate the symptom whilst the route cause is left untreated?

I think that the above-quoted selection suggests I'm not an isolated case.

(and to be clear, I have many times in the past deleted, added, changed the v-mail alert in an attempt to "fix" the problem, all to no avail)

I'm in exactly the same situation as you.
I never usually receive Velocity emails (not even account statements). At one point I appeared to be the recipient of a DSC offer that I hadn't even been notified about ;)
My family have the same account settings and do receive emails. In fact I was shocked when a Velocity News landed in my inbox this week. Perhaps a sign that the back end is being sorted??
My account is set up to receive all emails from Velocity and always has been.

Don't you know who I am? (sorry couldn't resist)

The offer to help is there, so feel free to PM.

So it's not just me that gets their Friday Frenzy emails on Saturdays

I've occasional for them on Sunday as well. From where I sit I have to laugh at the suggest JQ can manage to get emails to their customers.
