Don't discount it just because its cheaper...given the margin in travel insurance and the lack of overheads involved with a web based business, its not surprising they're selling it so much cheaper than the underwriter themselves.

The best way to judge a policy is to comprehensively read the policy brochure. but in the end, only you can decide if a policy suits your needs.

Good advice. Note that travel insurance is sold domestically in Japan via vending machines at the airports; not that you'd need it purchasing a policy here. If you have a credit card, does it include basic cover?
