So I am arriving in HKG on El-Al and departing on J* 8 hours later (HKG-SIN-PER). I know that the check-in at the airport opens only 2 hours prior to departure, but I'm wondering if there is any way to maximise my time in the lounge (ie., not sit on my luggage in the check-in area for 6 hours waiting for the counter to open). I realise I could take the train into the city and use the city check-in, but surely someone has figured out a better solution to this?

City checkin only, if you were HLO you could use straight to the gate by checking in the first leg only online.

The check in counters will be open for the 3pm-ish departure. Maybe they'll let you check in then.

Thanks for the responses. We arrive in HKG around an hour before the earlier flight, so maybe we will come across a friendly check-in staff member who will let us check in then. But I'm not holding my breath...
The other options I thought of were either to simply take the return train to Kowloon and check in there (320 HKD for the 2 of us - I assume we would both need to be there to check in), or check in online, then store our bags in the storage lockers and go to the lounge, then an hour before departure, leave the lounge, go back out to the other check-in side, and do the bag drop.

The airport express will only cost you the same as a one way ticket as that is the same day return price, ie 90 pp to Kowloon
