My dad has 4770 velocity points sitting in his account. He isn't a frequent flyer and won't be using the points.

Can I transfer 5000 points to him, and then transfer 9770 points from him back to me? (due to the minimum 5000 points transfer limit)

Otherwise his points are sitting there doing absolutely nothing.

Sure can. I have done this. Be aware though, that there are a limited number of transfers you can make in a 12 month period; I think 4.

i remember trying to pull off the same trick when i was a poor high school student.. had 7 quid left in bank account, was told min withdrawal 10 quid.. so grabbed my last fiver, deposited into account and tried to withdraw the lot.. only to be told it takes 2-3 working days before they process my deposit!! I think i had to beg for food that evening...!
