Fellow AFFer's,

I have been doing some googling and searching the forums to read about transferring through Singapore airport...

I'll arrive on a QF flight at 1605 on 31/12 and depart on an SQ flight at 2355 the same night.

Do/should I pass through immigration and then collect my bags... then proceed to check-in (can I check in 7 hours before an SQ flight??)...

or

Do the whole transfer desk thing and let them collect my bags from the lost baggage?

Cheers,
Aaron.

If both the QF & SQ flights are in the same pnr then QF can a) tag bags through to SQ destination & b) issue both boarding passes as QF & SQ have an IATCI agreement.

If separate pnrs, then I would go to the transfer desk in SIN & ask if they can re-tag your bag behind the scenes.

If not, only then would I clear customs, collect bag & check in with SQ landside.

The transfer desk in SIN will re-tag your luggage on almost any airline combination.

Most of mine have been manual tags and luggage has been delayed a few times. Can't afford not to have golf clubs with me if I am playing golf next morning. Last time it took me ~45 minutes to collect bags from T1 and check-in again to T2.
