Transfer Best Western points to an airline?

Hi All,

I've got just over 10,000 BW points sitting in my BW account. I thought I would be able to transfer these to AA or USDM but it doesn't allow me the option when logging in... is that because my BW account is Australian? Is there anyway to achieve this? (Transfer my account to US address or something?)

I think the idea to change to a US address temporarily is a sound one. It is not as if a points transfer will generate any mail. Use the address of a random NYC hotel or something.

+1 on this, I have done this a few times where they have stupid restrictions on being in US (even for an electronic transaction, really!).
