Timing out of AFF Forum

Just curious and not a big issue but I often find that I am timed out quite quickly from this site. It is of particular annoyance when composing a message and hitting "submit" and have to log in again and finding the typed info is lost.

Also happens after reasonably short period of inactivity. Is this something that cant be changed or is there a valid reason for it?

Seems happen to me a bit using the app. Sometimes after only 5 minutes. Happened so many times I now copy text from my post before submitting just in case.

Not specific to the new app. I also had it happen in the old.
Seems to occur more with lengthy replies

Happened to me in a few forums: I now use the "keep me logged in" option when I log in and I want to reply/post. Alternatively, if I'm unsure of my logged status, I Ctrl-A / Ctrl-C frequently.

Checking the "Remember Me?" box when logging in should prevent this from happening.

I'm encountering no such issues on the desktop or mobile version of the website. I am in the app. Can the OP clarify whether this issue is related to logging in through a web browser or the iPhone app?

I don't use the (Android) app for posting, only reading so the issue is always with using a web browser on my PC. I will try MATTG's suggestion and check the "Remember me" box and see how that goes.

The remember me box works for a few goes then drops you out when on a mobile device, using a PC has never been an issue at all.

I checked the "Remember Me" box last week and dont have to log in anymore. I thought that was to remember log in details rather than stay logged in but so far so good.
