Tiger's breastfeeding bungle

Why risk causing an offence when it's not necessary?

Methinks the problem is caused by the offended. Get over it. Life is too short to worry about an exposed breast. The right to breast feed is enshrined in a gazillion laws. Its your right to take offence too. Saddens me that some people still do.

Totally Agree!!! Let's see how passengers react when my wife gives birth to triplets very soon and i take them on their first flight to see the relatives in Tasmania, if they are offended with one baby breast feeding, I better advertise which flight I will be on so they are all prepared....

just to throw my 2c into the ring: to discriminate against some one for breastfeeding in Australia (which asking some one to cover up and making them feel uncomfortable definitely is!) is, undebatably against current anti-discrimination law. In every job I have taken, when it comes time for the induction training, which includes workplace issues etc.. this is always mentioned...

I can understand some may feel uncomfortable, but if you ask me that is their problem and they should be considered the odd ones rather than a mother doing something that is normal and healthy... (and for those that dont like screaming kids on a plane it is the ultimate pacifier and it helps young ears equalise in pressure as well as releasing endophins)

Disclaimer: My daughter was breastfed so of course I am biased :)

I agree with that. Besides, even if one is Hawkins, Gale or Kerr, it's not very nice to be cause some men around oneself a potentially 'physically embarrassing state' when it can easily be avoided by being discreet.
 I know it may not seems to be the case, but men are hardly likely to be so unable to control themselves so as to be in a physiclally embarrassing state, because of one bare breast. Maybe your thinking of teenage boys. ;)

There is nothing remotely sexual about a woman breastfeeding her infant. It is her right as a mother to provide the best possible nutrients for her infant at any given time. If anyone is offended by this act or finds it sexual, then I feel sorry for them and find them quite pathetic.
