Hello,

I am wrong. The increases appear around around many dates - even 5 months in advance - but midweek Tuesdays and Wednesdays seem less touched.

The usual $39 Tiger fares before extras are now displaying as $49 before extras.

This is a 26% increase, and given low 60% on time reliability - makes it grabbing a QF or DJ flight so much more attractive.

Quite predictable really, done this every year. I don't know if they are just gearing up for Easter or not. Going to be interesting as JQ better.

One Question: Tiger Stripes. Where can I check pricing IF I was a member.
I've seen the $1 puffs, but somehow I don't trust them, having noted the previous difference was about $2 each way. I'm not going to front money for a 60% airline.

But the real question, will Tiger increase their user friendliness by 26%, :p

Before a sale starts, Strpies members get an email about 1-2 hours before a sale starts (In my experience). you then have to log into your account which takes you to a customized version of the regular booking engine (Exactly like JQ and their 1c sales).

They are there, booked about 3 so far, but its getting harder to find them as I go on, all $2 return (Paid with Mastercard debit)

The Robot from Lost in Space lets out a laugh.

In doing an actual booking, they offer flexi flight for $260 odd dollars on a $39 airfare. Interesting when there is only one flight per day where I am, and the evening flights are always late. For a 1 a day charter - tell em their dreamin.
They should offer a +/- one flight deal.

Then want $12 insurance - What a rip off.
Nearly bailed out here as screen black for 30 seconds on the latest Firefox Beta.

$12 for 15 Kg luggage - iffy, but better than being extorted later

Then offer 10, 20 and $30 seat placements. Nope, for a 1 hour flight I will live.
Then offer $6 for a stampede in first for another $6 bucks.

Then SMS netcode to pay - arrgh so long - I can see some people bailing out.

Then rechecked DJ for the flight back, and they were more, so booked a hire car back over Easter.

$12 bag fee is better than $28 as it was last month.

FYI, this $1 sale is for one way only, ie-pay $1, then normal on the return. AVV-PER for $130 return not bad.

OTP is bad due to delays at YMML re one runway ops, and general SYD congestion. With an airline based predominately at Melbourne, followed by 15 flights daily out of Sydney, of course OTP is going to be a mess. Avalon base has close to 100% OTP.

How??? System wont allow it, screencap your booking in the payment bit to show us.

Looks like the system does allow it, The only parts of this image that were edited was my address, phone number and the first part of my email (Before the @).

I could only see $2 return when I was logged into my account, If I perform the exact same search now it gives me $1.00 for one sector and $28.95 for the other (HBA-MEL)

Hmmm, If I had the software, I would join to be a proxy server or run a robot script for everyone man and dog making the prices all visible in a spreadsheet. In the US there are many generous souls on who accept transactions and mirror the results. No Idea why, but QF and DJ should sponsor a bit of friendly 'show and tell' - but instead of throwing mud, appear to be ignoring em.

My gut feeling is Avalon has the lions share of the $1 fares - which is no good for me.

One interesting question: Anyone know how to book Tiger or JQ return with luggage in one direction and no luggage in the other direction ?
